குமுகம்-சமூகம்

உங்கள் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு தவறு இல்லை. community என்பதற்கு சமூகம் என்பதும் பரவலான சொல்தான். உங்கள் மொழிபெயர்ப்பே இருக்கலாம், என்றாலும் சமூகம் என்னும் சொல் தனிச்சொல் (பிற தமிழ்ச்சொற்களோடு பொருள் சுட்டாது, பொருள் கிளைக்காத சொல்). ஆனால் குமுகம் அல்லது குழுமம் என்னும் சொற்கள் கும்பல், கும்பிடு (கைசேர்ந்து கும்பிடுவது, கைகூப்பு என்றும் சொல்வர்), கும்மாளம் (எல்லோரும் சேர்ந்து கொண்டாடுவது), கும்பு = கூட்டம், திரள், கும்மி என்று பற்பல சொற்களோடு உறவு கொள்ளும் சொல். எனவே குமுகம் அல்லது குழுமம் என்பது நல்ல சொல்லாக இருக்கும். சமூகம் என்பதோடு இணைப்பு தரும் பிற சொல்லைத் தேடிப்பாருங்கள், கிடைப்பது அரிது. எடுத்தவுடன் சற்று அறியாத சொல்லாக இருக்கே என்று இன்னும் பரவலாக அறிந்த சொல்லை நீங்கள் இட்டிருக்கின்றீர்கள் (அதுவும் சரியே), என்றாலும் இப்படிச் செய்வதால், நல்ல சொற்கள், கிளைக்கும் சொற்கள் ஆட்சி பெறாமலே போகின்றன.

- சூரியப் பிரகாசு, உங்கள் மறுமொழிக்கு நன்றி. சரி அப்படியே இருக்கட்டும். என் செய்வது :) (வருத்தம் இல்லை.. கருத்துப் பகிர்வு மட்டுமே! நீங்கள் சொல்லும் காரணத்தை நானும் அறிவேன்.. உண்மையும் உள்ளது... ஆனால் விபத்து, ஆபத்து, அபாயம், சமூகம் போன்ற சொற்கள் வெறும் வேற்று மொழியில் இருந்து வந்தவை என்பதால் மாற்றப் பரிந்துரைகக்வில்லை..(அவற்றை நானும் "தமிழ்ச்சொற்களாகவே" கொள்கிறேன்.. எனினும், அவை தமிழுள் உறவில்லா "அனாதைச் சொற்கள்" (orphaned words).. அப்படியும் சொற்கள் இருக்கலாம்.. ஆனால் சில மாற்றுச் சொற்களையும் பயன்படுத்தலாம் என்பதே என் கருத்து.. விபத்து என்பதை நேர்ச்சி (தீநேர்ச்சி) என்று இப்பொழுது பலர் பயன்படுத்துகின்றனர். தீவாய்ப்பு, தீவிளைவு எச்சரிக்கை போன்ற சொற்களும் வழங்கலாம்..)--செல்வா 12:46, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
