Any news about the payments? I know the details have been collected...

Firilacroco20:24, 22 January 2011

Im waiting for payment as well!! I contacted Gerard with email five days ago and NO RESPONSE! The first information email sent to me on 29th nov 2010. Please speed up payments.

Olli18:04, 25 January 2011

It'll happen, please be patient. If you might die of starvation because of not getting this bounty cut, please let me know and I am certain we can work something out.

Siebrand20:42, 25 January 2011

Still no news regarding the payment? It's half an year since the rally ended...

Firilacroco19:03, 12 April 2011

I have transferred money according to the payment details I had ..

GerardM19:34, 12 April 2011

Please take this to e-mail Firilacroco and GerardM. I'm certain whatever went wrong can be explained quickly.

Rally results

Edited by 2 users.
Last edit: 15:02, 24 October 2010

Here are the rally results, yet to be confirmed. 23 users qualified for a cut. 6 users that initially seemed to have qualified, fall outside of eligibility for a cut of the bounty because not all requirements were met. Specifically, these users were disqualified because they have not translated the correct messages, even though the requirement of contributing 500 translations was met. I feel really bad about having to do this, but these are the rules, and 23 others did stick to them.

Each cut is EUR 39.13. We will contact you for transfer details if we do not have your details yet.

Siebrand02:53, 24 October 2010

Just as in the previous rally, I thought it might be nice to post the current top list. So here we go!

  • Gazeb 1525
  • Dbc334 700

There are 4 users that are less than 100 contributions below the #2.

I'd say *plenty* of possibilities to go for that bonus.

Siebrand14:06, 22 October 2010

Dbc334 is translating MediaWiki extensions when sl MediaWiki has still not completed Extensions used by Wikimedia. I saw rule "First complete translations for MediaWiki (core), then complete translations for MediaWiki extensions used by Wikimedia then work on All MediaWiki extensions." In my opinion it is not correct what is Dbc334 doing in this Rally . If I would do so, I would have much more translated messages, as I would select the shortest ones from all extensions.

Gazeb18:20, 23 October 2010

Thanks for letting me know. I warned the user now that there is still time to complete the remaining 160 or so messages in the required group.

Head-to-Head Thriller

Dear Siebrand,

Could you please provide a Thread:Project_talk:Rally-2009-12/Top_list#Top_list_1229 teaser. Last year it was such a thrilling hard-fought battle for the top 2 on the Eve of New Year TO THE LAST SECOND. Especially VitoGenovese was a tough nut to crack. Meno25 had some disqualified contribs. Naturally, it boosted the overall translation count.

Best Regards

2009 Winner's Complaint

Dear Tarnslatewiki Staff!

I haven't been paid my prize for winning the 2009 Decembere Rally yet.

It seems very embarrassing to experience such a thing by Translatewiki. Frankly, I left my volunteer based translations since then being utterly discouraged and disappointed.

That amount of money will not make me sth rich and I do not do contributions for money, however it was the word of Translatewiki.

Kind Regards Hanberke

Hanberke05:09, 18 October 2010

I know there are a few open payments, and I'm sorry one of them may be you. I'll look into it.

Siebrand06:49, 18 October 2010

Project:Rally-2009-12/handling#Payment_made states your name as having been paid. I'll ask Gerard to dig up proof.

Siebrand06:58, 18 October 2010

Dear Siebrand,

Thanks for your quick response. I had provided my moneybookers account. I've just checked. Payment is not indicated. Thanks

Hanberke07:10, 18 October 2010

Dear Siebrand and GerardM!

Could you please finalize this issue? If all other participants were made their payments, then what is the problem? You say no, then no problem. I'm really annoyed since it is contrary to the wiki(-related) habits to ignore things.

Kind Regards

Hanberke05:05, 20 October 2010

It has little to do with ignoring, nore with personal circumstances that I cannot go into now. Please don't be annoyed, but just participate in the current Translation Rally to get an even bigger present :).

Is it possible to merge payments?

Dear Siebrand, Dear Gerard, I have been qualified at [2009-12 Rally] But still didn't receive payment. My PayPal account is not allowed to receive payments (only sending). After correspondence with Siebrand I have provided Moneybookers account, but I received no payments (You're right, Moneybookers wasn't mentioned in payment methods). Now I want to ask about possibility of merging payments (for Rally-2009-12 and Rally-2010-10) to bank account, because bank commission during transfer can reach to 15-20 Euro for each transfer. Is it possible? Thanks in advance.

Haqmar07:41, 21 October 2010

Of course.

Rally-2009-08

Hi, I wanted to ask about the translation rally of August 2009 [[1]]. What happens to the people on the "unknown" list? (I unfortunately didnt know that Paypal transfers arent available for Mongolia...)

chinneeb-яриа09:18, 20 October 2010

Those bounty cuts will/have been repurposed by Open Progress.

Siebrand18:09, 20 October 2010

I see.

Translation number

Hi, where I can see how many translations have I contributed?

Olli06:48, 16 October 2010

Special:Rally500. Currently translations for Wikia are also counted, which is wrong. Please check the rules for which groups to translate from.

Siebrand11:05, 16 October 2010

Is it intentional that message documentations (qqq language) count in?

Dani | talk23:48, 17 October 2010

Hoi, documentation is really helpful and prevents problems with translation. Writing good documentation takes more time then only localising a message..

GerardM03:41, 18 October 2010

Indeed. I really don't mind that /qqq counts as a valid contribution.

Siebrand06:54, 18 October 2010

Thanks, it's really fair, gives chance for more people to contribute :)

Dani11:10, 18 October 2010

Do realise that it can take up to 5 minutes to contribute message documentation, where it rarely takes more than a minute to contribute a translation. However, I would be ecstatic if someone would qualify for a part of the cut making contributions to message documentation only.

Siebrand13:15, 18 October 2010

is it counted edits from different languages ?

Zanatos01:47, 18 October 2010

Your edits from different languages are welcome. Keep in mind that we want the messages done in order of relative importance. Thanks,
