Identical messages in OpenLayers

These two messages are identical in English:

  • BoundsAddError (“You must pass both x and y values to the add function.”)
  • PixelAddError (“You must pass both x and y values to the add function.”)

Should they be identical?

Duplication is a Good Thing, not a bad thing.

Some translations differ from one another.

Can this message be documented with a relevant screenshot? It says: "select a new BaseLayer in the layer switcher in the upper-right corner"; i haven't actually used this application, so i don't know whether for an RTL language it is and upper-right on an upper-left corner.

(It doesn't have to be in the opposite corner, because for a lot of applications it's enough to just set the right direction for the strings without moving everything to the opposite side.)

What is feature? what is FID?

Nike09:39, 24 April 2011

I have asked User:RobertL to look into this.

FID stands for "Feature ID".

A feature is a geographical feature. The default implementation describes a latitude, longitude and a marker, but can also be a represented as a vector and set of attributes for example.

What does Graticule mean?

Nike09:47, 24 April 2011

Apprently this is a control for adding lines on a map that indicates the degrees. See http://dev.openlayers.org/sandbox/pinch/examples/graticule.html and wikipedia:Oscilloscope#Graticule.
