Hi Ewithu. Welcome to translatewiki.net!

You can now start translating.

You should also check the portal for your language, the link is in the sidebar. Other useful pages are linked in the menu next to this message.

Your translations are transferred to the standard product every few days or every few weeks, depending on the product. Please notice that it may take longer before you see your translation in the actual product.

We wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Please leave any questions on Support (the link is also available on any page, in the navigation sidebar). Cheers!

First steps

Hi,

I see that your main language is Hungarian. I'll enable Mansi, but I recommend practicing translating into your native language before getting into something harder like Mansi :)

For example, you can:

  • If you haven't done it already, switch your interface language here on translatewiki.net to Hungarian. You can do it by clicking the language name next to your username at the top of the page, searching for Hungarian, and clicking it.
  • Read the guides to which the "Welcome" message at the top of this page links.
  • Read the Basic glossary in English, and translate it into Hungarian by clicking "Translate this page" ("A lap fordítása") at the top of the page. Make sure that you use terminology that is consistent with existing translations. Use the translations search interface or the full list of current translations to search for the terms. Reading and translating this page will give you solid familiarity with the MediaWiki technical terminology, and it will help other translators into Hungarian.
  • Complete the translation of some important projects into Hungarian. Here, too, make sure that the technical terminology you are using is consistent with other translations and the usual practices of the Hungarian wiki editors community. Recommended projects:

That may seem like a lot of work, but I strongly recommend it. It will be immediately beneficial for the people who speak Hungarian, and it will give you useful experience for going into translating something in a more difficult language. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 14:32, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I shall work on Hungarian stuff, and practice before doing Mansi, thank you! Ewithu (talk) 16:06, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
