2010-08-01: Public version of translatewiki.net configuration was updated.
2010-08-01: We had some severe performance issues at times because of a slow running query. Apparently the source of the problem was a database backend change a few weeks ago; conversion of a few tables from MyISAM to InnoDB. Because we had not changed the InnoDB buffer sizes, queries were slow. Buffer sizes have been raised now, and things should run more smoothly.

2010-01-02: Our Google AdSense is not performing well at all. We expected our users to regularly help us by clicking the ads, but nothing of that sort has happened. We activated the feature on 23 March 2008 and until today, 2 January 2010, ads were displayed on 3,622,044 pages (a lot of page views do not get ads because they are excluded because of our robots.txt). This resulted in 721 ad clicks and € 125.75 in revenue that of course has been/is being spent for the good of this site. Our page CRT is 0.02% and our page eCPM is € 0.03. We are now considering alternative ways to raise funds (like accepting PayPal donations). These funds would be needed to cover hardware, development and project management costs, as well as funding for translation rallies, if the funding would be sufficient. Meanwhile, we will continue serving Google Ads, because some petty cash is better than no cash.
