translatewiki.net April 2011 Translation Rally results

Edited by 3 users.
Last edit: 15:11, 2 May 2011

These are the results of the translatewiki.net April 2011 Transation Rally. These results are not yet final, as users may be disqualified, although there are no reasons to believe there will be at this point in time.

A stunning 59 users have made 500 or more contributions during the rally. A result never seen before.

  • Total new translations during rally: 56,650
  • Total translations during rally: 63,516
  • Total active translators during rally: 212
  • Languages contributed to: more than 100

And these are the contribution counts for all qualifying users that each get a EUR 15,25 cut (including transfers costs). Anakmalaysia and Dani have finished in first and second place, qualifying for an additional EUR 50,00 cut. Congratulations and many, many thanks to all translatewiki.net translators for making such an enormous difference to non-English usage for the Free and Open Source Software products that translatewiki.net supports!

Siebrand, 59 participants, but 56 have claimed their cut (as far as I see on the project page). Are we going to give the cut to those who didn't claim? If so, then it is alright. Thanks for your updates throughout this rally. :-)

And I very happy to participate and finished as third and one of the three thousand translations holders. It was my first rally and I liked it. Though I started translating in April 26, and seriously translated that day and in the last day (I almost got you Dani.. :P, congrats!). And also congrats to all participants!

[ Tanvir | Talk ]12:22, 1 May 2011

I expect that eventually everyone Will claim. As you may have noticed, the results are not het final.

Siebrand13:40, 1 May 2011

What does the percentages mean in the first list?

Nghtwlkr12:30, 1 May 2011

Maybe the growth of the user's contributions, but there are strange values for some users with fewer edits.

Dani15:00, 1 May 2011

It's the percentage of non-fist edits (above the number of new translations contributed).

Siebrand19:39, 1 May 2011

I couldn’t understand that. Can you rephrase that?

Giftpflanze02:41, 2 May 2011

Gift, It seems the percentage stand for non-new translation messages. I do some of them which are already out of date translation in the past. that's way I got 1.9% againt my counting translation during rally, means abou 10 messages are non-new one. Just IMHO.

J Subhi pamandiran03:35, 2 May 2011

Thank you, that would make sense! :)

Giftpflanze03:42, 2 May 2011

Actually it is the percentage of new translations which have been edited after creation (have more than one version in history).

Nike07:25, 2 May 2011

Thanks, Niklas :)

Siebrand11:40, 2 May 2011

Pls correct the word Solvak on Slovak, code is sk- Slovenčina. Thks very much :) Nelliette

Nelliette12:29, 2 May 2011

Done Done But it's also a wiki; you could have done so yourself :).

Siebrand15:11, 2 May 2011

Yes, the rally is still open for another hour

But since I was going to bed, I already updated the sitenotice. I expect little to change in the top 3.

  • Anakmalaysia 3407
  • Dani 3069
  • Wikitanvir 2751

Huge edit counts people. Much, much respect for the time and effort you have invested in the past 8 days. Thank you!

Complete results tomorrow.

Top be in the top ranks at the moment, you need at least 2,000 qualifying edits. I will try to keep this updated.

Last update: 14:01, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Siebrand18:42, 24 April 2011

Maybe you could also post top 2 result? :)

Olli06:05, 25 April 2011

Or maybe I'm not posting them to not spoil the competition too much?

Siebrand08:05, 25 April 2011

Please post the top two contributors. That will make us to work hard!

Surya Prakash.S.A.09:36, 25 April 2011

I would estimate that making another 2500 new translations in the coming days would secure the rally bonus for you! (and if you don't get it, you will have the eternal gratitude of the users of the products you localised for.)

Siebrand10:11, 25 April 2011

Hi Siebrand, I see you also in the rally. Do you have made 2500+ new translations? I think should have get additinial time to be your rival :), I have good bad intenet connection in begining of rally :(. Do we have additional time since site outage for a while?

J Subhi pamandiran01:35, 30 April 2011

A top 2 position currently requires 2,679 qualifying edits, top 5 1,511.

Siebrand14:28, 30 April 2011

Thank you,Siebrand, for the information. That's sound nice. Also thank you to Tanvir.

J Subhi pamandiran15:42, 30 April 2011

Please help me know if I am eligible for the contest

Hi, please help me to know if I am eligible for participating in the contest.

As you are a translator, you are eligible for the contest. See Special:Rally500 to know if you are qualified or not.

[ Tanvir | Talk ]04:28, 27 April 2011

That's correct. Psubhashish currently has 48/500 required points to qualify.

Siebrand06:23, 27 April 2011

When I have to sign?

You have told that the translators have to sign in the respective category. (cutting the money to them or the foundation) When we sign there? Now or after finishing the 500 edits? Please announce it too.

After Special:Rally500 tells you you are qualified.

Siebrand15:08, 20 April 2011

OK OK. thank you Siebrand. I feel great to participate in this rally.

Good to hear. I hope we will get at least 50 users to hit the 500 mark.

Siebrand16:22, 20 April 2011

Pls sign me after finishing 500 edits.

Nelliette17:22, 20 April 2011

You will have to do that yourself. Please be reminded that the rally has not yet started.

Siebrand18:22, 20 April 2011

It starts within a hour uh? I mean as per Indian Standard Time it's 12 O'clock here now. Shall I start the translating?

)

See Project:Rally-2011-04. It starts in ~52h40m.

But do not let that keep you from contributing NOW! If you're in it for the money, you're probably in it for the wrong reason.

Siebrand19:14, 20 April 2011

No. I'm not here for the money. Please see my contributions friend. I've been a translator here for more than 6 months. I've been translating many projects. You can see my user page. Now also I'm translating the OPEN IMAGES. I'm not translating for money! Please understand myself.

I wrongly considered that yesterday was 22nd April. That's why I asked "Shall I start translate?" No other reason in it. Please understand friend.
