Hi Si Gam Acèh. Welcome to translatewiki.net!

You can now start translating.

You should also check the portal for your language, the link is in the sidebar. Other useful pages are linked in the menu next to this message.

Your translations are transferred to the standard product every few days or every few weeks, depending on the product. Please notice that it may take longer before you see your translation in the actual product.

We wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Please leave any questions on Support (the link is also available on any page, in the navigation sidebar). Cheers!

Congratulations!

Hi Si Gam Acèh. Congratulations on your first milestone for 'ace'. 50% of the most often used messages of MediaWiki were translated, which means that the language has now been added to the MediaWiki product. This also means that you will soon see it appear in Wikimedia's Incubator. I do hope that you, and maybe some other users - please invite them! - will keep on working on the localisation and work it to completion. Thank you for what you did for your language on the Internet. Cheers! Siebrand 08:06, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Babel extension on translatewiki.net

Hoi, here at translatewiki.net we are implementing the Babel extension. Would you be so kind and localise it for the Acehnese language ? Thanks, GerardM 18:20, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Cham languages

Hi!

Thanks for your translations into Acehnese!

Eight years ago, you asked to add Eastern and Western Cham languages:

Since then, there were no contributions in this language to translatewiki, and there were very few contributions to the Incubator. It's OK to have these languages here, but at least I'd like to have a confirmation that the names are written as "Cham Gah Pai" and "Cham Gah Pur". I can't find these names in any online source except Wikipedia. Do you know any books, dictionaries, or websites where they are written? I see that there are several books about these languages, but none of them are available online.

Amir E. Aharoni (talk)18:45, 27 January 2022

Hi, Amir. The names are informed to me by a Cham speaker from Vietnam. He created Chamic Wikipedia on Incubator. I would suggest you to contact him directly.

Achinese on CLDR

If you would like some hints on how to request a change of English name for ace to Acehnese on CLDR, I am willing to try to provide these. However, getting anything changed on CLDR is usually a very long process.

Lloffiwr (talk)19:38, 31 March 2013

How to request a change? Thank you..

Si Gam Acèh (talk)17:02, 1 April 2013

OK. I will do a few notes for you, but not just yet as I am busy at work.

Lloffiwr (talk)21:26, 1 April 2013

OK. Thanks a lot..

To change the English name for ace you need to file a ticket to make a change request at CLDR Change Requests. I don't think you need an account to do this. The process for requesting data to be changed is described at "CLDR process". There is also advice on CLDR on translatewiki.net. I think the rule for choosing which English name to use for a language on CLDR is to use the most commonly known name, so it might take you a long time to persuade them that Achinese is old-fashioned and not liked in Indonesia.

Lloffiwr (talk)12:37, 5 April 2013

OK. Thanks.. :)
