Welcome to Betawiki!

Hi Max sonnelid. Welcome to Betawiki. Before you can use Special:Translate, and Special:Magic, please request translator rights at Betawiki:Translators. Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. If you are going to be an active user here, please also add your name to the languages you will be working on at Translating:Languages. For an overview of the languages that are being worked on here, you can have a look at Translating:Developer log. Other useful pages can be Support and Import requests.

Once you have started translating, please remember to often request a commit of your translation work at Translating:Tasks. This makes the number of changes easier to handle for the devs.

I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 10:35, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please be more careful

Hi Max. Please be more careful with the translations you make: translations should not be equal to the English text. If so, do not translate, as there is no use. Also, if a message reads "Project:FAQ", do *NOT* make it "Wikipedia:FAQ" as not every wiki is called Wikipedia. Stay as close to the English text as possible. Cheers! Siebrand 19:44, 27 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Max. Please follow directions, as you do not appear to have done that here and here. Please fix those 2 messages and please stick to the English source messages. Cheers! Siebrand 17:27, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Other languages

Hi Max, I see you speak better some other languages than English. If you want to, we can add languages to the edit form so you can translate easier and compare your translations. Example in other languages: [1] and [2] (under "message in other languages"). If you want this for sma, you can say for which languages and I will request it. Greetings, SPQRobin 16:47, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

MediaWiki:Cite croak/sv

/Lejonel 17:48, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Requesting new languages

Hi Max. I very much appreciate your enthousiasm in working on multiple languages. So far you have made contributions to sma, sv, no, and possibly others. If you take a look at Translating:Group statistics, you will see that neither off these languages score 100% for all message groups. 'sma' does not score 90%+ on core messages. I would like to urge you to continue working on the languages you are (more) proficient in. If you want to work on new languages, please help by recruiting native speakers of languages so that they can work on getting a truly correct and complete localisation for a language. At the moment I am not inclined to adding Peripheral Mongolian (mvf) because of the aforementioned reason, unless you can verify that you are a (near) native speaker of this language. Cheers! Siebrand 19:33, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hooks

/Lejonel 10:31, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Betawiki!

Hi M.M.S.. Welcome to Betawiki! Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. If you are going to be an active user here, please also add your name to the languages you will be working on. Before you can use Special:Translate, and Special:Magic, please request translator rights. If you have a wiki where a lot of translations have already been made, you can make an import request. Other useful pages are linked in the translatewiki.net menu that comes with this message.

Once you have started translating, your work will be committed to the standard product every few days. If you want to explicitely request your work to be added, please make a request for commit.

I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 18:48, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Användbara översättningar

För att översättningar ska vara användbara är det viktigt att de är korrekta. Därför är det bättre att låta bli att översätta meddelanden som du inte förstår eller som du är osäker på vad de betyder. /Lejonel 17:57, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK. M.M.S. 07:23, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Google translate: don't

Hi. I deleted 3 of your contributions. Two of them had the edit summary that they were translated using Google translate. Please don't do that. Stick to the languages that you actually know. You may be introducing the most horrible errors without knowing it... Thank you for your considerations. Cheers! Siebrand 20:40, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK. M.M.S. 07:13, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Old user merged

Hi Max. You old user "Max sonnelid" has been merged into this user for consistency. Siebrand 11:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Translations

Please do not translate messages you are not sure about. Do not just save the messages of Atom and RSS feeds, so they will appear as "translated". And also, I don't know Faroese, but I can see that MediaWiki:Create-this-page/fo was wrong and lacking of declensions. I corrected it, but please watch out and don't translate things you are not sure of. Thank you, SPQRobin 20:19, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sydsamiska

En fråga. Kan du faktiskt sydsamiska, eller har du bara en ordbok? // habj 23:48, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Har bara en ordbok. M.M.S. 08:27, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sånt brukar inte vara särskilt lyckat. // habj 19:11, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Don't use translating services

Do NOT use Google translate or etc. Most of your translates to the Finnish doesn't mean anything, just pure gibberish (mergehistory-autocomment, mergehistory-comment and some more). Please, translate only languages that you actually know. --Crt 09:58, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK, I stop. M.M.S. 10:49, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

languages

Hoi, I have removed two languages from your Babel template. They are not recognised in the ISO-639-3 and as such their codes are wrong. Thanks, GerardM 08:09, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reaching the target for MediaWiki most used core messages

Hi, M.M.S.

As you probably know, in Betawiki, there is a group of MediaWiki messages considered essential for a minimum localization to any language. That group is called MediaWiki core message (most used). When a language reaches at a translation level of at least 98% of these messages, it is considered to have the essential localization. As of end of March, there were 95 of the 311 languages at this level and it would be great the increase that number further. As Southern Sami is currently at 97.15%, very little effort would be needed to reach 98%, or even better, 100%. Therefore, I would like to invite you to complete the missing translations and make Southern Sami be part of the list of essentialy localized languages.

Thanks for your attention and best regards, Malafaya 14:02, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have stop to translate in Southern Sami. M.M.S. 14:06, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry then. I followed the translators at Portal:Sma. Should your name be removed from there? Thanks, Malafaya 14:23, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes. M.M.S. 14:24, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

You have been blocked for 24 hours for disruptive behaviour. On your talk page people have requested several times to restrain yourself. Your changes to Translating:Group statistics have now been reverted at least 3 times, even though the page header clearly states This page is updated with a script. Please do not manually update these statistics! I do hope you will start thinking twice making particular edits. Cheers! Siebrand 21:31, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Danish translations

Your translations in danish are not proper danish. I have corrected at least a third of your translations the last couple of days. Please stop make bad translations.--Jan Friberg 08:24, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK. Thanks, M.M.S.! 08:36, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
You still make bad translations. Please stop.--Jan Friberg 00:29, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please confirm e-mail

Hi Max. Could you please confirm an e-mail address? I need to send you mail because I would like to discuss something I'd rather not discuss on-wiki. Cheers! Siebrand 09:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done M.M.S. 06:13, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I sent you a mail. Please reply to it, or verify here you have read it and understand it. Cheers! Siebrand 08:55, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Signature

Hi Max. Would you please consider toning down your signature? As far as I am concerned it is about what is being said, and less about who is saying it. The current size of your signature is distracting me from getting the message you try to bring across. Cheers! Siebrand 06:35, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Complaint about MediaWiki:Expensive-parserfunction-warning/da

Hi Max. There has been another complaint about a translation of yours. I suggest that you also stop contributing to Danish, as you clearly have too little understanding of it. Maybe you can do a better job being an ambassador for Betawiki by trying to get translators for Danish to come to Betawiki? Cheers! Siebrand 14:25, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay! M.M.S. 16:35, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
