Welcome to Betawiki!

Hi Morten LJ. Welcome to Betawiki. Before you can use Special:Translate, and Special:Magic, please request translator rights at Betawiki:Translators. Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. If you are going to be an active user here, please also add your name to the languages you will be working on at Translating:Languages. For an overview of the languages that are being worked on here, you can have a look at Translating:Developer log. Other useful pages can be Support and Import requests.

Once you have started translating, please remember to often request a commit of your translation work at Translating:Tasks. This makes the number of changes easier to handle for the devs.

I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 11:44, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Why didn't you just request a rename? We are not too fond of all kinds of ghost accounts... Siebrand 19:14, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Eh, I don't follow. I did get my username changed from User:Morten LJ to User:Morten, I then created the Morten LJ account from this account to prevent anyone from impersonating me, I will not use that account. Is this OK? --Morten 20:01, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. I was mistaken. Carry on ;) Siebrand 21:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I can't blame ya, you seem to have a lot of things going on ;-) --Morten 21:32, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. I need more people to do stuff. I'll start bugging you when you Danish guys have the Danish localisation under control and have at least finished the WMF extensions :) Thank you for your understanding. Siebrand 21:37, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Danish

Hi Morten. I see you are changing infinitives to imperatives. Please use infinitive (see this edit). The problem is that English infinitives are the same as imperatives, but in this context they are infinitive. Thanks, SPQRobin 15:04, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for bringing my attention to this issue. I am not totally sure what you mean, so can you please give me an example from my own edits? (I will ask my teacher girlfriend to explain it to me as well ;-) --Morten 13:11, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
[1], you changed "vise" (infinitive) to "vis" (imperative) (I don't know Danish, but I searched what this change was :p). Anyway, what I mean is, you should use infinitive when a user *can ask* something from the computer, and imperative when the computer *asks* something from the user. SPQRobin 13:31, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
OK, but I am quite sure the imperative is the correct in these cases. E.g. the MediaWiki:Rev-delundel message is shown on the history pages where it links to the page where you can show and hide revisions (i.e. like "enter password"), thus it is imperatives. --Morten 13:56, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, "enter password" is required if you user wants to log in. But hiding revisions is not required for anything. It is only needed if a user *wants* to hide a revision. See the difference? SPQRobin 14:13, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
There may be a different. But in these messages (at least in Swedish, but I think also in Danish) imperative is most correct. Infinitives are definitely grammatically incorrect, they cannot be used by themselves in that way. /Lejonel 14:26, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit conflict

I can see my argument is wrong, but I still think my conclusion is correct, however I don't think I am fit for this argument (I am not good with the humanities). However I can tell you this, "[at] vise" is translated to "[to] show", "vise" thus only makes sense in a sentence like "I want to show you something" (da: Jeg vil gerne vise dig noget). "vis" is translated to "show" and makes sence in a sentence like "Show me something" (da: Vis mig noget). I don't know if this brings us any closer to anything... sorry. I'll discuss it with the other Danish guys if they become active. --Morten 14:35, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I'll leave it up to you, because I don't know the languages (though, I still think infinitive is better :p). SPQRobin 14:58, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, tough discussion between the two of us, but I will discuss it with other Danish translators if they become active. --Morten 20:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree with Morten - "Vis" is definitely correct in the context.--Peter Andersen 21:13, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Koordination

Hej Morten.

Sure thing ;-) --Morten 16:53, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
