I see that you're translating into Scots! This is very cool and much-needed.

You've been translating messages from various projects. I recommend doing something different: selecting particular important projects and focusing on completing them. To make this more convenient, I've added a list of links to your user page under the title "Links for Scots". The list includes projects that are most useful for Wikipedia and other Wikimedia wikis. I recommend going through that list item by item from top to bottom, and translating each item completely. If you don't want to do it, feel free to remove it from your user page.

If you are working with friends, I recommend that each of you picks a different item in the list and complete it.

@Amire80: Hey, Scots Wikipedia admin here. I've been correcting mistranslations, because it really does not look good having 3 interface messages right next to each other using 3 different translations of "only" (one of them which isn't actually a valid translation). For example, "yinlie" is not a valid translation, there's been several places where "naw" has been misused, "delyte" actually means delight, not delete, and "commyn" is 15th century Scots. I'm just trying to get rid of the most obvious/prevalent mistranslations before starting on anything new. (And surely you wouldn't want blatant errors to persist?) No, it's totally fine to fix incorrect things and eradicate bad mistakes. It's just that some of the corrections that you do are in messages that aren't even used anywhere, such as WikiReader:Quote:license text/sco and MediaWiki:Gwtoolset-mediafile-throttle-description/sco. They are from projects that were completely discontinued. Sometimes I clean translations into my language in such discontinued messages, but I usually do I after I complete the translations in more important things, which people actually use :)

"Wikipedia" spelling

Hi!

What's the correct spelling for the name "Wikipedia" in Scots?

In the Wikipedia itself, I see "Wikipaedia", "Wikipædi", "Wikipædia", and "Wikipedia".

Should be Wikipaedia. The Scots article has always been titled "Wikipaedia". The middle 2 look like somebody applying rules haphazardly (the person that added "Wikipædi" also translated "here" as "haur", which is an incorrect hypercorrection of "where" being "whaur"; a ha[a|u]r is a part of a door) and "Wikipedia" is English CiphriusKane (talk) 19:41, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

Thank you. Note that the logo image in the Scots Wikipedia says "Wikipædia". Perhaps it's OK to keep it if you consider it a classical-looking equivalent typographic variant.
