|How to start|
Welcome to Betawiki!
Hi Dsvyas. Welcome to Betawiki. Before you can use Special:Translate, and Special:Magic, please request translator rights at Betawiki:Translators. Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. If you are going to be an active user here, please also add your name to the languages you will be working on at Translating:Languages. For an overview of the languages that are being worked on here, you can have a look at Translating:Developer log. Other useful pages can be Support and Import requests.
Once you have started translating, please remember to often request a commit of your translation work at Translating:Tasks. This makes the number of changes easier to handle for the devs.
I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 14:22, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
---Yes, I can see that, and thats why I am here, will do as much as I can, and would love to do more than what I could do....--Dhaval (ધવલ) 15:01, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello! I'd like to inform you that the message documentation we have for some messages contains useful information. For example in it reads that in some pages one should not translate Project: part. I have fixed these messages now, but please take a moment to look if there is information provided when you translate. Thanks! – Nike 16:16, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- In fact I had realised when I translated that, but wasn't sure, could really not read it in documentation, sorry for that. I did however save it with translated Project: as such, thinking will get that message 'Fuzzied'. Thanks for fixing it anyways.--Dhaval (ધવલ) 16:55, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Claim gu-1 expired
Dear Dsvyas. I regret to have to inform you that the claim for 'su' milestone 1 has expired without the milestone being met. This means that no bounty will be made available. Please feel free to stake a new claim, based on the current translation status for the same milestone, or for another milestone. I do hope you will keep on contributing to MediaWiki localisation, despite this possible setback. Cheers! Siebrand 09:02, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry Siebrand, Couldn't meet the deadline, being the only active admin on gu.wiki, it takes up a little bit more time to look after and maintain, even there are no editors (spell checker, etc.) there, so have to go through all the new contributions, and majority of them are full of errors, so lost track of this task somewhere. Will try to finish this time.--Dhaval (ધવલ) 12:46, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Tags and documentation.
Hi! Please follow the markup and documentation of the original message as close as possible. Use <br /> instead of <br> and if the documentation says something, follow it. Mediawiki:metadata-fields/gu for example needs fixing. – Nike 08:09, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Nike, Sorry, will use <br /> now onwards as suggested, as such I shouldn't need to use, but somehow, on gu.wiki Line break (paragraph break) is not always constant, sometimes, with Strike, it does start new paragraph adn sometimes it doesn't.
- Regarding the Example that you have given, I couldn't get what needs to be fixed? Can you please explain?--Dhaval (ધવલ) 15:16, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- The example I linked is already fixed, so you don't need to fix it anymore. – Nike 17:00, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Your claim has been approved
Hi. This mail is just to let you know that your claim has been approved and that it is due 7 August 2008. My apologies for taking so long to approve it. The percentage of the claim that was still open has been calculated based on the date it was made. Cheers! Siebrand 16:43, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Most used messages
Hoi, I am relieved that there is life in the localisation for the Gujarati language. Would you be so kind to do the 12 messages left of the most used messages first? These are literally the most used messages. Thanks, GerardM 14:45, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your message
Thanks for your message here. I fully agree with you. There should be uniformity and for the sake of that one has to revise the translations. So, in future, please do change my translations as and when needed for uniformity. Please also bring such things to my notice so that I can keep the same in my mind. Never feel sorry for changing my translation. After all, this is the task everyone of us is doing for passion and as you rightly said, our common and most important goal is to enrich gu.wiki to bring a real fame to its existence. By the way, I do not think, I have translated $1 anywhere, I know the placeholder/variables/reserved words need to be the same. However, at some places I might have change the order of $3, $1, etc. so that in Gujarati that message may appear correctly. However, if they lead to some confusion, then it ought to be changed by one of us. So, keep reviewing my translations and do bring issues that stand corrected to my notices.
I visited various special pages on translatewiki and could see that there are teams of translators for many languages. This team has a common platform to discuss and fix up the priority of translation. You must be knowing aboutthis page. Could you form a team for Gujarati Translators please!
I should also appreciate a page (may be a subpage of your user page or some help page) where we can list the standard gujarati phrases, like revert = પાછું વાળો, version = સંસ્કરણ, Automatic = આપો આપ. This will greatly help us maintaining the uniformity too.
Love and Regards,
- The talk pages of portal pages Portal_talk:gu are commonly used for this. – Nike 08:21, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
જાદુઇ શબ્દો Magic Words
આજે translatewiki પર ઘણા પાનાં જોયાં. જેમાં [આ પાનું] ગમી ગયું. એમ લાગે છે કે આ પાનાં પર બધાં system messages આપ્યાં છે. સામાન્યતઃ આવા શબ્દો reserved words હોય છે. તો શું આનું પણ ગુજરાતી કરીએ એમ અપેક્ષિત છે?
Dhavalbhai, Thanks, I understand what you want to say. If you notice any error in my translation,please do change as and when needed. મને શ્રધ્ધા છે કે આપની કિંમતી સલાહ મને જરૂર ઉપયોગી થશે.અહીં કાર્યમાં એકવાદીતા માટે આપ જરૂરી સુચનાઓ આપશો કે કશુંક ચોક્કસ કાર્ય ફાળવશો તો પણ મને આનંદ થશે.આભાર--Ashok modhvadia 19:36, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Could you go to http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special%3ATranslate&task=reviewall&group=ext-math&language=gu&limit=100 and make sure the translations if different math options are different. I have marked other one of those fuzzy. Mediawiki will crash is two options are translated exactly the same. Thank you!
This discussion might be of interest to you - Thread:Support/Mwe-upwiz-desc. You can vote to support this issue at bugzilla - the more votes it gets, the more likely that action will be taken. I remember you having raised the general issue of the order of text and input boxes a long while ago, here. It appears that if we want to raise this issue in general with the developers, then we could create a general bug about it at Bugzilla:.
