Hi Ssemmanda will. Welcome to translatewiki.net!
You can now start translating.
You should also check the portal for your language, the link is in the sidebar. Other useful pages are linked in the menu next to this message.
Your translations are transferred to the standard product every few days or every few weeks, depending on the product. Please notice that it may take longer before you see your translation in the actual product.
We wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Please leave any questions on Support (the link is also available on any page, in the navigation sidebar). Cheers!

Translation into Luganda
Hi!
Welcome to translatewiki :)
I see that you've selected Luganda as one of your languages. Localization help with Luganda is indeed much-needed.
I've added a list of links to your user page under the title "Links for Luganda". I recommend going through that list item by item from top to bottom, and translating each item completely.
If you are working with friends, I recommend that each of you picks a different item in the list and complete it.
Please ask me or the Support page if you have any questions. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 12:27, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you Amir, I need to sincerely inform you that I want to do work here but I need your help to know how to Navigate the system here Ssemmanda will (talk) 04:03, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- I also want to translate the Wiki Commons into Luganda but I do not know where to start from Ssemmanda will (talk) 04:04, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Go to your user page.
- Find the list called "Links for Luganda".
- The top item in this list is called "Most used / Most important". Click it.
- Check the progress bar at the bottom of the page. As I'm writing it now, it's 49% translated (blue) and 7% outdated (yellow). The rest of it is gray, which means "untranslated". Your goal is to bring it to 100% translated (blue).
- Click on the top row in the list of messages to translate. Currently, it says "Developers". Transate the English text ("Developers") into Luganda. Push "Publish translation".
- Note the sidebar on the right-hand side. It sometimes has suggestions from machine translation (Google or MinT). If this suggested machine translation is good, click it, and it will be automatically copied to the box where you have to type the translation. If it's mostly good, but has some mistakes, click it and correct the mistakes. It's very important that you correct the mistakes and don't just copy the machine translation. Click "Publish translation" only after you correct the mistakes.
- Sometimes you'll see messages marked in yellow. This means that they have to be updated because they were translated, but the English text was changed later, or because they have a mistake. Carefully read the English text and update the translation.
- Repeat the previous point until you get to the end of the list. Be patient: It's OK if you don't finish everything in one day. If you translate a few rows every day, you'll get to the end eventually.
- After you get to the end of the "Most used / Most important" list, go to the next point in the "Links for Luganda" list.
- I also recommend reading these guide pages:
- And also watching this video:
- If you want more guidance, email me, and we can set up a video meeting.
- The steps above work for both Wikipedia and Commons. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 01:22, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
