Christmas 2011 translatewiki.net Translation Rally

Among all users contributing 500 or more new translations to Wikipedia Mobile, Kiwix, MediaWiki core and MediaWiki extensions used by Wikimedia, we will divide 1,000 Euro (approximately 1,308 US Dollar). The money comes from a grant by Wikimedia Nederland, the Dutch Wikimedia chapter and is facilitated by Stichting Open Progress. We are very grateful for this wonderful support!

Please sign your name here if you think you have made 500 or more new translations (check the rules!) between 23 December 2011 12:00 UTC and 3 January 2012 00:00 UTC.

Rules

There are a few simple rules. Read them!

  1. Only new translations for Wikipedia Mobile, Kiwix, MediaWiki and extensions used by Wikimedia during the rally count towards the total. You must complete translations first for Wikipedia Mobile and Kiwix. Once those products have been translated completely, you can continue with MediaWiki core and MediaWiki extensions used by Wikimedia. So translate in this order:
    1. Wikipedia Mobile
    2. Kiwix
    3. MediaWiki 1.19 alpha or MediaWiki extensions used by Wikimedia
  2. translatewiki.net staff has full discretion to disqualify anyone who in its opinion acts outside the intentions of this rally. Users only contributing machine translated messages or contributing to languages that mainly fall back to another language with the same translations, will be disqualified. Other possible reasons for disqualification could be (very) bad quality translations. Please remember that we are in this for the users of the products we translate for, not for the money (at least not primarily :P).
  3. If you choose to appoint yourself as beneficiary of the cut, this can only be transferred to you if you can receive payments on your PayPal account, or if you have a bank account that can receive money transfers from The Netherlands.

Distribution of funds

  • 950 Euro will be divided evenly over all qualifying users.
  • 50 Euro is a bonus for the qualifying user who makes the most qualifying translations during the rally.

After your name, please indicate what you would like to happen with your cut:

  • "Please transfer my cut to me" to have us get you your cut in your PayPal account or bank account
  • "Please donate my cut to Stichting Open Progress" to have Stichting Open Progress repurpose your cut.

If after verification you are indeed eligible and the rally is over, we will contact you by e-mail within a few weeks if you have indicated that you want to have your cut deposited into your account. Please be aware that your cut includes bank or PayPal transfer costs, and may be lower because of that. If you are not eligible, your claim will be removed, and a reason will be added in the page history.
