Importing issue

Hi there,

You are importing non-unicode version(Zawgyi font) of Burmese texts and it's problematic for Burmese Wikipedia. Please be reconsider if you make it again.

Regards

Dr Lotus Black (talk)01:32, 28 August 2018

Would you please tell me who are you?

  • Hi, I'm also Dudi on Translatewiki & Incubator. I couldn't use this name with Wikipedia, so I made "Mahmudmasri" there to use it. I'd love to know who are you & if you are known for other usernames. I would also kindly like to ask you not to copy/paste the Arabized translations to our Egyptian Wiki :)
Dudi10:00, 13 February 2010

This bot is used by translatewiki.net staff. See User:FuzzyBot for some explanation. If you have any questions, please ask them at Support.

We usually do not copy anything to other languages. Please provide an example, and you will be referred to the correct translator.

Siebrand10:54, 13 February 2010

What about this? !!FUZZY!!لا إشعار كهذا. It's copied directly from Arabic, in addition to the word “!!FUZZY!!”. It is not translated into Egyptian. If copying is inevitable, then please copy from the English.

Another unrelated issue: When I press on the button “Show preview” on this page, what I typed dissappears & the page becomes all white! I had to type my reply twice. The same happened with me when I tried to start the new section.
Dudi03:17, 14 February 2010

Please talk to User:Meno25. He has been making mass imports to arz based on changed ar translations. For StatusNet the authors can change from the original author to FuzzyBot because of small changes to message contents or new messages that had a fuzzy match.

"Show preview" in LiquidThreads is broken, indeed. We reported it to the author of LiquidThreads (User:Werdna) over a day ago, together with three other issues related to LiquidThreads (previews broken, permalink broken, narrow screen oddness, "PHP Notice: Undefined variable: e in /classes/View.php on line 618").

Siebrand09:23, 14 February 2010

By the way, the Egyptian page of this bot isn't translated into Egyptian. [1] I wasn't able to edit it. Additionally, instead of copying it from Arabic & have a duplicate, you could have just not added the Egyptian version.

Dudi03:21, 14 February 2010

I have no problems editing it. What is the problem? Also, from the page history you can see who has done what.

Nike09:40, 14 February 2010

I do not have a permission to edit it

You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reasons:
This page cannot be updated manually. This page is a translation of page User:FuzzyBot and the translation can be updated using the translation tool.
You can view and copy the source of this page:
Dudi10:41, 14 February 2010

Click "translate this page" instead of trying to edit it (or "translated version" if you're watching User:FuzzyBot/arz).

Some translations

Hey FuzzyBot,
I've made some translations of the Ladino language lately and you have reverted them to how they were, saying Updating translation from external source, however those translations were also mine. I'm trying to standardise now the translations and use more universal words in the Ladino language as words and meaning change from dialect to dialect.
So, what is the reason of reverting them back?

Universal Life11:24, 30 July 2010

You crossed a generic cleanup for MediaWiki core messages files; I caught a few that were incorrectly overwritten, but apparently not yours. Thanks for noticing and correcting it.

Siebrand12:29, 30 July 2010

I frequently see Fuzzybot reimporting translations (overwriting fixes made here), instead of jsut importing changes in the English source, and marking translations as fuzzy (without changing them). This discards all fixes made here, because these reimported old unfixed translations will overwrite the correct fixes that were imported correctly in other wikis. Fuzzybot does a very bad job by not even mentioning what is this "external source", meaning that this external source cannot even be corrected. In all cases, all these are made without any discussion, or any relevant link to that discussion that never occurs in this wiki, and so nobody knows who controls them and where. Fuzzybot should be shutdown, forbidden to overwrite translations (except for creating new fuzzy ones) and only allowed to import sources (generally in English).

Verdy p (talk)11:54, 24 September 2019

I agree. FuzzyBot is doing more harm than good. Example: https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Mantis:Codev-aeaa7f-Remove_IssueTooltip_customisat/fr&diff=next&oldid=9044087 It's introducing typos, dropping diacriticals, and even reverting French to English.

Urhixidur (talk)16:37, 6 March 2020

I also agree that Fuzzybot does a bad job. And giving the reason "Updating translation from external source" is really bad when it does not indicate which source was used and no indication of who initiated this import and from which wiki/site.

That bot must be moderated more strictly and must be fixed so that we kwno who we can contact. Ideally, it should also only work for importing into languages/projects for which it indicates the correct authorization ID for that project/.language(that can be changed if needed, so that it will be blocked as long it is not updated and then passes a test to get a new valid authorization ID). If there's no authorization ID, but only the user authentication ID (for "user:Fuzzybot" only on this wiki), then that bot should request a new bot user id to work with specific projects where it will be authorized or blocked selectively.

But this wiki grants it the same usage rights on this wiki, for all the projects supported by this wiki. This is bad, because all these projects have distinct policies, distinct terminologies, sometimes as well specific tunings that do not follow the generic MediaWiki scheme (also because these projects don't use the same version of MediaWiki, or don't all have the same perserhooks and extensions deployed).

One Fuzzybot doing everything with the same rights on this wiki is just bad.

We have a slightly different situation. Our translations simply add the phrase !! FUZZY !!. Here's an example. Explain why this is done and whether it needs to be removed?

DDPAT (talk)10:01, 23 August 2021

The English message changed so the translation was fuzzied to indicate that it needs to be updated to match the English original. However, you didn't update the translation but simply removed the !!FUZZY!! marker. You should probably update the translation.

This vandalism caused a bug in upload-wizard. Please stop it xD (I won't read any reply, it is just a report)

RE rillke questions?19:57, 22 December 2011

Vandalism? Wow, that seems a bit quick on the trigger. Am I correct that you indeed assume malicious intent?

Siebrand09:48, 23 December 2011

It caused a bug. Whoever was responsible for - for me it does not matter; I just want to get it fixed. And no, you are not correct on assuming malicious intent. But it could have been an error in the bot's code since I don't understand it and it was not done for ./en

RE rillke questions?00:26, 24 December 2011

Don't call it vandalism if it isn't, please.
